my guess is that the antibodies is not useful against omicron (mu has far less mutation in the spike protein against omicron and mu has a 10 fold reduction from the antibodies already)

Antibodies for original spike protein can't bind the new variants.
The immune cells need to make new antibodies with minor modifications after the infection of new variants.
Inactivated virus provide more information for B/T cells and speed up the process.

I think they are still useful but not as effective. delta has spike protein mutation and it results in 4-6 fold reduction in usefulness against delta.
omicron has even more mutation, it could result in 30x fold reduction which means antibodies is quite useless itself in protection against infection.
HK had a case with 2 dose moderna for 38 years old with 2nd dose on Oct 4. in theory, he would have very high antibodies as he was recently vaccinated with the vaccine that produces the most antibodies
