Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind - George Orwell。

6.我的評論: 近十年來,香港有好幾個政客,口才還可以。原來 George Orwell 以前對政客已經有所觀察。
1.According to some studies, humans tell about two lies per day. Women are more likely to lie to protect someone’s feelings (the so-called altruistic lie) while men tend to lie more to boost their own image.
2.
Lying is multi-faceted. There are white lies - harmless lies often told to avoid hurting someone’s feelings. further,there’s exaggeration – presenting something as better (or worse) than it really is. and
“economical with the truth” – holding back information. ,and
" complete fabrication" – where something is entirely invented.
3.
a professor ofUniversity of California has studied lying for years. she discovered that people start lying about age four ;
Manipulative people tell the most lies;
and
lying is linked to extraversion and self-confidence.
4.
Politicians are in this situation: the voting public demands promises of good news and continued prosperity and will only vote for those who make these commitments. A politician could well argue that a political lie is a variant of a white lie.
5.
Politics in its media-driven and prosperity-oriented format seems to have embraced lying as a necessity. Spin, obviously unrealistic promises, and outright lies are so common as to almost have become the norm.

第二句:A politician needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen - Winston Churchill
